High School for Adults
We begin our work at Kotka High School for Adults when most people are heading for home after a day's work. The first lesson starts at 4.30 p.m. and the last one finishes at 8.30 every night. The school year is divided into two terms and five periods. From June to August we are enjoying our summer holiday. However, during the summer there are courses catering for special needs, e.g. classes for students preparing for the Matriculation Examination (ylioppilaskirjoitukset). At KHSA you are studying for nationally recognised qualifications. Your high school education comprises Finnish language and literature, foreign languages and mathematics. In addition to these you can choose from history, natural sciences, philosophy, psychology and religion. Media studies are our newest subject. You will find more information about the Finnish education system. |
